Constipation: Tips for Easy, Long-Term Relief

by: Tim Murray

Constipation isn?t the direst problem you?ll ever have, but wouldn?t it be nice if you were able to avoid it forever?

No more intestinal pains from cramping, no more straining when using the bathroom, no more days of agony ? sounds good, right?

Constipation is the result of one of the following:

Bad eating habits that don?t provide you with another fiber for easier elimination

Prescription or over the counter drugs

Not drinking enough water or juice

Not enough exercise

Irregular or new eating patterns

Not going to the bathroom when the urge hits

The solution is making healthier changes in many areas of your life.

Eat better. While this seems impossible in your fast-paced, fast food life, you can make smarter choices. If you must eat out order steamed vegetables and salads with protein as the side dish. Drink water or juices. Avoid alcohol, desserts, and processed wheat products when at home, too. Eat whole grains like oatmeal, wheat berries, or brown rice instead of sugary cereals, bread or pasta. Make green vegetables part of your meals, and snack on fruit.

If your supplements or prescription drugs are constipating you, and you must take them long term, add some flax seed to your diet. Sounds awful, doesn?t it? It?s easy. A product like Metamucil comes in capsule and powder forms making it easy to add to you daily morning routine. If you are looking at a short-term blockage problem, shop for laxatives. Just be aware that laxatives used over a long time can create a dependency and can also be quite uncomfortable when they kick into high gear.

Drink more water. Buy bottled water if your tap water is yucky. Add fresh-squeezed lemon juice to a cup of hot water for a delicious morning ?laxative? for a great start to your day.

Take a twenty minute walk each morning and after dinner. Exercise can completely end constipation. No pain, lots of gain.

If you?ve jumped on the low-carb, high protein bandwagon and it?s helping you lose your cravings but keeping you up at night with bowel problems, make sure you eat high quality mixed greens every day and take three fiber (flax) capsules daily with two glasses of water to keep you regulated.

The last solution is to go when you feel the urge. Your body is telling you it really needs to go. Listen to those urges. When you hold back and force yourself to stick to an unnatural schedule, you are likely to end up constipated. And you don?t want that.

Simple solutions for an uncomfortable situation are within your grasp. Ban constipation forever!

About The Author

Tim Murray is a freelance author from Pt Orange, Florida.
Business Success Methods Effective for Weight Loss

by: John McKee

:::Show those extra pounds you mean business with these proven principles for professional success:::

In business, individuals often secure the services of a success coach to ?fix? certain areas of their professional life, such as securing a desired promotion or salary increase, or enhancing performance and productivity in their business lives. However, it?s noteworthy that many of the issues and challenges people face on the job are more similar than not to those of someone trying to lose weight. In short, both of these groups often seek someone or something that, with minimum effort, expense, and time, can get their situations ?fixed? and on a desirable course for the long term.

Like many challenges faced by professionals looking to enhance their career path, those with weight-related challenges may also be failing to realize that the weight problem is actually a symptom of other, more deep-seeded problems that are occurring elsewhere in their lives. In other words, the obstacles overweight and obese people face may, in fact, not necessarily be a food-related problem at all, just as problems at work may have very little about what?s actually occurring on the job.

In my practice, BusinessSuccessCoach.net, I use a holistic process coined ?The Four Windows Method? to assess all of the elements required to affect my client?s success in business, rather than simply focusing on what is likely a mere symptom. Although conceived for use in a business context, this proven process is infinitely adaptable and effective to those attempting to lose weight.

Susan Burke MS, RD, LD/N, CDE concurs, having noted, ?It?s clear John McKee understands that weight loss encompasses much more than just food modification. His introspective Four Windows Method digs deeper in an attempt to uncover one?s true motivation for overeating, which has resulted in the ?symptom? of an overweight or obese condition. McKee?s Method is designed to achieve permanent behavioral change to achieve and maintain a healthy weight for the long term and, as such, it?s an effort that I wholeheartedly endorse.?

"Losing weight rarely relates to simply implementing the ?right diet? or the ?right workout?,? said Raphael Calzadilla, B.A., CPT, ACE and a Certified Personal Trainer. ?From my extensive personal and professional health experience, I?ve learned that one must first understand the driving emotional and psychological forces in their life in order to make the required behavioral changes. McKee?s Four Windows Method is one such process. It can help health seekers get on the right emotional track, allowing them to more effectively work toward - and reach - their goal."

What Are The Four Windows?

Window 1 ?
Building An Algorithm-Proof Site Part Three

by: Tinu AbayomiPaul

What is an algorithm-proof site? Technically, there?s no such thing. Since we don?t know exactly what the search engine formulas for ranking are, from that standpoint we can?t really be sure that our site won?t drop out of the search engines with every update.

For our purposes, an algorithm-proof site is one that seems to stay in the top five rankings for a desired keyword term through each search engine update. These sites never seem to lose their rankings no matter what happens. And if you?ve recently lost your search engine positions, or are starting a new site, this is the type of site you will want to have.

So since we know that some sites are standing the test of time in the search engines, we can study those sites to see what their secrets are - what are those sites doing that yours isn?t?

In short : Is there a secret to building an algorithm-proof site?

Yes.

Will I tell you what it is now?

Yes.

Will you like the answer? Maybe. That really depends on whether or not you *understand* the answer.

If you "get it", you'll be overjoyed. If you don't, you'll be puzzled. (Should that happen, you may want to read the entire article series on this topic.)

And we?ll come to that momentarily. First, here 7 tips for an algorithm-proof site that you can think about when building your plan.

1. Incorporate authoritative linking as part of your search engine traffic plan.

That's not to say that you should completely abandon reciprocal linking, however, you may begin to find, that a mix of linking strategies is your best bet.

2. Realize, at the same time, that links aren't necessarily the end in and of themselves - they are more of a measure of your progress.

Being out for any and all links, or even the best links, isn't going to do it for you alone. For small business sites to small corporate sites, they aren't the only thing to focus on.

3. Create relationships between the content you want to be listed for and each of the public documents at your own site.

Keywords count. Just don't overdo it, though. Think more like - if I had to work these phrases into a conversation out loud, how would they fit without making me sound like an idiot?

4. Also create relationships between each of the public documents at your site, and similar documents at other sites. But don't cheat.

These need to be real remote references to your site, and in context as much as possible.

5. Employ more than one method to build those relationships, then continue to build on these and expand once established.

It is, in part, a (link) popularity contest, and you're not winning if everyone has the exact same thing to say about you - it makes the machines that are evaluating your site think that you're cheating.

6. Get your foot in the door first, and it will be much easier to work the rest of your site in.

In other words - discover the easiest road into the search engines and build on that. There's some term that is directly related to the term you want to rank for that is easier to rank for - especially if you?re blogging it may only take you a few days or weeks to show up for that term.

With a more competitive area, it will take longer to find that keyword phrase, but keep looking. It?s worth it both to get short term search engine results and as part of your long-range plan.

7. Realize that you may see faster results by focusing on content deficits, but long-term results don't happen overnight - unless you buy them.

If you really want that first page position for your favorite keyword tomorrow, then it may be worth it to find out whether the effort to do so naturally will actually be profitable. You could try buying some limited quantity of it, say, $100 worth of your keyword, or whatever adds up to a small sampling of 250 visitors.

Next, point it towards what you hope will convert to sales - If it's not bringing the results you want then getting it naturally may not be worth your time either. (Of course, the problem could also be with whether the page converts well, but that?s another discussion.)

Building an algorithm-proof site is about building a relationships between documents and topics. This doesn't just go for the documents at your site, or remote documents, keywords, links or optimization. It?s like getting the best sound from your stereo by adjusting your graphic equalizer settings - there?s more than one way to get perfect sound.

In the end, the secret to building an algorithm-proof site is that There Isn't Just One secret. If you can really focus in and understand that one thing about search, your headaches about getting better search engine results may go away permanently.

The secret to better search results that are long-term is in understanding search from both the analytical and philosophical sides, and incorporating the knowledge you build into a comprehensive plan.

Copyright 2005 Tinu AbayomiPaul

About The Author

Tinu Abayomi-Paul is a website promotion specialist focusing on website visibility solutions for businesses.
7 Things to Know when Renting a Car

by: John Mancini

In today's society, there are a number of reasons why people rent a car. Some of the top reasons are vacations, a car they own is in the shop and renting a nicer car for a special occasion. Whatever the reason that you are considering renting a car; there are some things that you should know first.

1- It is wise to shop around when looking for to rent a car. Always find at least three rental car companies to compare, although more will be better. Be sure to ask all the companies the same questions to get the most accurate answers. Most rental car companies will have websites online to find basic information, but it is best to call as local branches may have deals that are not advertised online.

2- When you call, be sure to ask about price, vehicle availability, as well as any specials that the branch has to offer. It is worth noting here, that many of these companies will have special arrangements with hotels, airlines or even warehouse stores.

3- You will want to ask about any special instructions that are required of you while renting the car, for example, filling up the gas tank or pick up and drop off times. Not adhering to these policies can result in fees.

4- Many companies that will rent a car to you will also be willing to either deliver the car to you or pick you up and take you to your rental. This service may require a fee, but can be worth asking about if you are flying to your destination.

5- The rental company may offer you insurance to purchase, however, your personal auto insurance may be all you need in the event of an accident with a rental car. Call your auto insurance agent and ask before paying extra at the rental counter.

6- There are a number of choices that are open to you when renting a car. Each class of car will vary in price and gas mileage; consider this when making your decision. While many companies may be willing to upgrade you, this is not always the case. It is wise to choose the car you want and hope for an upgrade than to reserve less of a car and be disappointed when an upgrade is not offered.

7- Have a credit or debit card handy to reserve the rental car with, most companies will only guarantee a car with this assurance.

About The Author

John Mancini has been writing about rental cars online and offline for a long time.
Online Health Insurance: The Truth About Cheap Quotes

by: Evan Davis

Looking for low cost health insurance quotes? Good. You are taking that most important step of shopping around for the best price. But more importantly, you undstand that it is important to have health insurance, and perhaps, even more importantly, understand that the real purpose of health insurance, as for any insurance, is protection. That is, you do not get health insurance to act as a sort of discount off the price of doctor and hospital services. The point of insurance is protection in the event of catastrophe. Yes, health insurance costs are high and continue to rise, but do not forget that the reason you are seeking health insurance quotes online--and even offline--is to insure you get the most protection (not discount) for the best (lowest) rate.

Getting health insurance quotes is now extremely easy with the use of the Internet. Take advantage of online insurance quote availability to get an idea of the range of premium prices offered. Even if you don't want to buy online, you will have a better understanding of what the insurance agent is talking about, and when it comes time to put ink on the contract, you will be making a more informed decision. Remember, too, that quotes are free and come without obligation.

When you look for cheap health insurance quotes, online or off, you must also consider type of health care you want and what that means in terms of how your care is delivered to you. Health insurance is a much more than a matter of co-payments, co-insurance, and deductibles. When you get a health insurance quote, you are getting a quote on a certain kind of plan. Unfortunately, there is no such thing as a single "best" plan. You will find that there are some plans that will serve your needs better as an individual, and plans that will be better for both you and your family's needs. Plans will vary according to what services they offer, and you will probably have to make some hard choices as to what services are most important. No plan will pay everything; there will always be out-of-pocket costs associated with your medical services, though some plans will pay more for the services you deem most important. So, health insurance quotes are really the tip of the iceberg to a very important subject.

Cheap Health Insurance Quotes and the HMO, PPO, FFS/indemnity plan, and POS.

HMO--An HMO is a health maintenance organization. An HMO contracts with doctors, hospitals, and other medical providers to form a sort of network. As a member of an HMO, you are required to use the providers in that network. You pay the HMO a certain amount of money per their payment arrangements in order to receive medical services.

PPO--A PPO is a preferred provider organization. A PPO is similar to an HMO in that there is a network of medical providers that you can use. However, the PPO does not require you to use that network and allows you see doctors and go to hospitals out of network. Normally, you do not need a referral to see doctors out of network. However, in that event, you do pay more for the service. That is, the amount of coverage is less.

POS--A POS is a point of service plan. A point of service plan is very much like an HMO except that POS doctors can refer you out of the network of providers to see a specialist. In a POS, you would not refer yourself, and if the plan does refer you out of the network, you do pay more for the service.

FFS--A FFS or indemnity plan, is a fee for service plan. In a fee for service, you are billed by the service. You are usually not required to use a network of providers. That means you choose which doctors, hospitals, and specialists you want to see and use. Because you make the decision about who you see and where you go, there is no need for a referral to see a doctor. The only limiting factor is whether or not the provider accepts the insurance of the fee for service plan insurance.

Low Cost health insurance quotes have a lot going on behind the scenes. Seeking an online quote? Now you have a better idea of what that quote is for. When you visit an insurance agent to talk health care, be sure to look thoroughly into the options available to you. Your health insurance quote represents a package of insurance services, and it is important for you to understand the relationship between the quote and the services you may be purchasing.

About The Author

Evan Davis works in Medicare customer service, and is the webmaster and owner of Instant Health Insurance.
Affiliate Marketing vs. Google Adsense: Let the Battle Begin?

by: Scott Patterson

Lately there has been a lot of discussion on how to make tons of money with Google Adsense. In fact, many people are making the claim that Adsense sites can earn a higher revenue then an affiliate-marketing site.

So that brings us to an important question: Which is a better online business - Affiliate-Marketing sites or Google Adsense sites?

Let's explore each one and then find out which online business is better option:

Google Adsense

How do you like the idea of earning m*ney without dealing with customers or answering emails. This is possible when you run a Google Adsense site. With Adsense sites, you can have a virtual passive-income that requires little maintaining. But is this the best option for an online business?

Here are the positives of Google Adsense sites:

?	They are perfect for people who run information sites that have no related affiliate product

?	You can set it and leave it. With Google Adsense, you can create a content page, and there is little need to update the content.

?	Adsense sites are easy to scale. Since they require little upkeep, you can easily create multiple websites that each make a nice income.

Here are the negatives of Google Adsense sites:

?	They are not a great long term solution. Instead of getting your visitors to subscribe to a mailing list, you are focusing on getting people to click on ads. Real online businesses concentrate on building assets that can use for long-term growth.

?	These sites are dependent on search engines. Most Google Adsense sites make the mistake of depending on search engines for the majority of their traffic. If the SE algorithms change then your income might drop significantly.

Affiliate Marketing

Being an affiliate marketer is great for those who want build a theme site. With this type of business, you can easily create web pages around a topic and get people to buy products through your products. If done correctly, you can easily build a loyal following that will help you make money for years to come.

But can affiliate marketing make you more money then Google Adsense?

Here are the positives of affiliate marketing:

?	A great advantage of affiliate-marketing is that you can build a long term business that will bring in a revenue stream for years.

?	With affiliate-marketers you need to focus on building an email list. This list is a major asset of your business. Every time you have an offer, you can go to your list and increase your profits..

?	Unlike Google Adsense sites, which only concentrates on high paying keywords, an affiliate marketing site can be centered on a topic that you have an interest in.

Here are the negatives of affiliate marketing:

?	You have to learn how to write persuasively and get people to purchase the product that you are recommending. For many people this is a difficult skill to learn.

?	Each affiliate marketing site requires a lot of effort. You must spend a lot of time writing product reviews, building your email list and creating web content.

So which is better: Affiliate marketing or Google Adsense?

The answer is that both are great solutions for an online business. Instead of choosing one over the other, you should create websites that can take advantage of both.

Here is how you can do this:

1)	Create a content site on a topic that you are interest in, while paying a good amount per Adsense click.

2)	Integrate your Adsense into the menu bars and the top of your web content.

3)	Add web pages for affiliate-products and your opt-in email list. But, make sure that you leave out the Adsense blocks on these pages. This way you are ensuring that you are building your long-term assets.

4)	Create optimized web page articles that focus on a specific keyword phrase. Place your Google Adsense in these blocks.

5)	Provide your email list with good content and product recommendations. Once in awhile, email your list and provide a link to some of your web articles. That way, you can earn a little bit of m*ney from your subscribers while giving them good content.

By focusing on both affiliate products and Google Adsense, you will be building both short-term and long-term profits.

About The Author

Scott J.
5 Ways Poor Credit Scores Costs You Extra Money

by: Jeanette Joy Fisher

Most of us want a good credit report to obtain automobile financing, credit cards, and to purchase a home. But, beyond these consumer loans, your credit report can cost you in everyday living expenses. What you don't know about your credit could be costing you money.

Having a credit card means that you can order tickets, rent a car, and reserve hotel rooms. Besides these conveniences, your credit report can mean that you must pay higher deposits and fees for everyday services.

Did you know that your credit history can keep you from getting utility connections, good telephone rates, the best auto insurance, home owner's insurance, or even keep you from getting hired?

1. Some utility companies set minimum standards for service connections. If your report shows collection accounts for prior utility bills, you may not be eligible for service at all. And if utility companies do agree to connect your service, you'll need to pay a higher deposit than another customer with good credit who may not need to make any deposit.

2. The same requirements exist for telephone services. People with a good credit history don't need to pay deposits for home telephone or cell phone services. When we first got a cell phone with poor credit scores, we had to pay a $300 deposit, for one cell phone. After fixing our credit, we got eight cell phones for our business, with zero deposits.

3. What many people don't realize is that good credit enables them to get better insurance rates. High-quality, low-cost home owners? insurance, auto, and life insurance companies set minimum credit standards for their policy holders; this means that consumers with poor credit have to pay more for less coverage. Many automobile insurance companies now base your monthly premiums on your credit score; these companies offer a 17% discount if your score is over 625 and a 25% discount if your score is over 725. Why? Because according to their studies, people who are careful with their credit are also careful with their property and careful drivers.

4. Bad credit can cost you a job. More and more employers run an applicant?s credit report and hire the person with better credit, assuming that better credit equals better integrity and character. A friend of mine with a Master's Degree and a 4.0 grade average did not get hired; she was told her credit score didn't meet their minimum standard and that they hired another person with less education.

5. Poor credit scores means you pay more for your home financing. Mortgages cost more in upfront fees and interest rates for those with low credit scores. How much can you save? A mortgage loan of $150,000, 30-year, fixed-rate mortgage, interest rate of about 5.72 percent costs around $870 a month; poor credit scores raise the interest rate over 9 percent and the payments over $1,200. As you see from these payment differences, good credit means that you can finance a more expensive house with the same income, or save $330 each month.

Boost your credit score so you can save money on everyday expenses, get high-quality insurance, and the best mortgage financing.

Copyright © 2006 Jeanette J.
5 Simple Steps to Lower Your Cholesterol Level

by: Frank Mangano

You can lower cholesterol without drugs by following some basic steps that will not only change your cholesterol readings, but also improve your health today and in the future. So often we use a prescription drug and hope it will magically cure whatever ails us. The truth is prescription drugs for lowering cholesterol do work. The problem is both the short term and long-term side effects.

Even more dangerous than the side effects of prescription drugs to lower cholesterol is not getting cholesterol under control. Over time, high cholesterol can lead to numerous conditions of the heart and arteries, not the least of which are atherosclerosis (hardening of the arteries), stroke or heart attack.

Here are 5 steps you can take today to lower your cholesterol without prescription drugs.

Eat right. May sound simple, but diet has such a significant impact on lowering cholesterol that it should be the number one factor you look at in determining if your high cholesterol is hereditary or a matter of dietary choices. A low fat and low cholesterol diet is the first step toward lowering cholesterol.

Exercise. Improving cardiovascular health is a step toward reversing the effects of high cholesterol. Exercise itself doesn?t directly lower cholesterol, but will strengthen the heart and entire circulatory system.

Quit smoking. If you smoke, the plaque build up in the arteries due to high cholesterol is accelerated. When plaque blocks the flow of blood to the heart, the muscle has to work harder to get oxygen. This can lead to a heart attack. If the arteries get completely blocked with plaque from high cholesterol then a stroke can occur.

Relax. Chronic stress can affect cholesterol levels. If you are constantly stressed and eating a low cholesterol diet, you may not see any improvement in cholesterol readings until you learn to relieve stress.

Talk to your doctor. Not all doctors are quick to prescribe medications. In fact, the more enlightened doctors will help you form a diet and exercise plan that is suitable for your current overall health and abilities as a first step toward lowering cholesterol. It is always important to ask your doctor if your decision to follow a specific diet or exercise plan is right for you. In addition, do not stop taking medications before consulting with your doctor. You can lower your cholesterol with diet and exercise, and under the care of your doctor, see about removing drugs from the process.

It does not take long to see significant improvements in your cholesterol. Lower cholesterol can be yours in just a matter of weeks.
Comparing Credit Cards

by: Rudy Hadisentosa

Like any merchandise, you need to compare credit cards too before you actually decide on which one to go for. The selection of a credit card should not be based just on what is good, since there is nothing like a good credit card. Neither should it be based on the recommendations from a friend. The credit card that fulfils your needs is the one which is good for you. Something which fulfils someone else?s need would not necessarily be good for you since everyone has their own needs. Moreover, do not get bowled over by all the offers being run by a particular credit card. A lot of them are just selling tactics and might not meet your requirements (and you can?t keep changing credit cards each fortnight).

So the first step is to evaluate why you need a credit card. List down all your requirements and classify them as primary, secondary and tertiary needs. Next, search for the credit cards that fulfill most of your primary needs. Compile this information in the form of a list or a document. Now check these credit cards for what secondary needs they fulfill additionally. By this time you should have short-listed 2-3 of credit cards (or maybe just one). Finally use your tertiary requirements to solve the tie-breaker.

The following are the things that you should consider when comparing credit cards:

1. The APR: There is a short term as well as a long term APR. Short term APR is a marketing and sales tactic and is used to lure new customers into signing-up for the credit card. This APR is offered for a short term just after you sign-up for a credit card. So you should really be looking at the long term APR.

2. Additional benefits: These could be in terms of discounts at a particular store where you shop a lot or discounted car rentals or air fares etc. Again, based on your requirements these may or may not be of your interest

3. Annual fees: Of course, this is your outgo on credit card services and whether you use your credit card once in a year or 1000 times, you will always have to pay this fee. So it is a very important factor indeed.

4. Credit limit: For heavy spenders, this is a very important feature. Again, check your requirements before basing your selection on this feature.

5. Rewards program: Some credit cards offer very attractive rewards program. These are the points you earn for spending on your credit card. Once you have enough points you can barter them for goods or service and even frequent flyer miles.

6. Interest free period: If you are going to overspend on your credit card, the interest free period might be of particular interest to you.

7. Cash withdrawal fee/charges: These are the charges you pay when you withdraw cash on your credit card. So if you intend to use such a service, this will be of interest to you.

8. Forex conversion rate/fees: For people traveling overseas a lot, foreign currency conversion rates will make a lot of sense. Some companies don?t charge a fee but have ridiculous conversion rates which compensates for the fee.

There could be a lot of different offers and you might be enticed to go for them. However, the key is not to get lured by such offers and to stick to your requirements when making a selection.

About The Author

Rudy Hadisentosa: CCN.com is a free online credit cards review and application website.
Credit Card Extras

by: Peter Kenny

Depending on which company supplies your credit card and which credit card you have, you are likely to have access to a whole range of additional services that come along with your credit card. These will be different for all credit card providers who each offer their own benefits and advantages to their customers.

Some credit cards will offer you special discounts or benefits from specific stores or companies. So you may for example get a discount for all purchases you make from a specific company. This will especially be the case if the credit card provider is in some way affiliated with a store or major retailer.

Another benefit you may get from your credit card is when you rent a car. Many credit card companies will offer you car rental insurance when you use the card to pay for the car rental. The same may be true of booking flights or other travel purchases. A benefit of the credit card may that it provides you with free travel insurance. These are especially popular with American credit cards.

Loyalty schemes may give you points, air miles, or some other form of reward for every pound you spend with your credit card. So simply by using your credit card, you will be collecting loyalty points that will soon add up. You can then use them to claim a cash refund or some other reward. If you are collecting air miles than you will be able to use them to book free plane tickets or upgrade your flights to business or first class.

One of the other big advantages of making a purchase with your credit card is that the credit card company will have to guarantee the quality of the item you purchase. So if, for example, you buy a sweater with your credit card, and it turns out to be of defective quality, then you will have two options, you can go to the seller of the sweater for a refund. But sometimes you will be unable to seek a refund from the retailer, such as if you bought it from somewhere far away from where you live, or you cannot get a refund from the retailer for whatever reason, in this circumstance, you can instead turn to the credit card company and claim the refund from them instead. This is a major advantage of using your credit card to pay for purchases.

About The Author

Peter Kenny is a writer for creditcards-gb For additional articles and an extensive resource for everything about credit cards, please visit us at http://www.creditcards-gb.co.uk and http://www.creditcards2go4.com.

info@creditcards-gb.co.uk
